Solid Section

 

 

CivilFEM can extract data from a cross section of a three-dimensional structure calculated by ANSYS. The Solid Section window shows a list with all the obtained ANSYS solid sections. In this window it is possible to create a new solid section (~SLDSEC command), modify an existing section (~SLDMDF command), delete sections (~SLDDEL command) and list defined sections (New Solid button, ~SLDLST command).

 

 

 

A nodal plane in the section and the elements associated to that plane by one of their faces must be selected in the ANSYS model in order to create a new solid section. An empty screen is displayed in the Solid Section menu, after pressing the New Section button. In order to capture the section, you must press the Calculate Cross Section icon.

 

CivilFEM can modify the member properties associated to the solid section. Next window represents the modification option. In the right hand side, there are some extensible fields where the number of member property can be chosen (Member Properties Number). The associated values to the member property chosen are also displayed when selecting some of the values sets (Member Properties Type).
