Defines the interstitial pressure lines in the slope stability model

PREP7: GEOTECHNICAL MODULE: Slope stability

L

Line number where data should be introduced:

If L = line number and the remaining fields are left blank, L is deleted.

If L = DELALL everything is deleted.

U

Corresponding line pressure (in water column length units).

X1

X coordinate of point number 1 that defines the line.

Y1

Y coordinate of point number 1 that defines the line.

X2

X coordinate of point number 2 that defines the line.

Y2

Y coordinate of point number 2 that defines the line.

X3

X coordinate of point number 3 that defines the line.

Y3

Y coordinate of point number 3 that defines the line.

X4

X coordinate of point number 4 that defines the line.

Y4

Y coordinate of point number 4 that defines the line.

X5

X coordinate of point number 5 that defines the line.

Y5

Y coordinate of point number 5 that defines the line.

Notes

- In order to define the line, 5 points can be entered in each command. The command may be launched several times to include more points in the same line. If this is done, the pressure value (U) will be the one used in the last command

- Lines cannot intersect and the X coordinates must grow form the first point to the last one.

- If only one line is introduced and its pressure equals zero, the line is considered the water table. Therefore, pressures that are situated over the water table have a pressure value of zero and those that underneath it are hydrostatic pressures. On the other hand, if various lines are defined, above the first line and underneath the last one the pressure equals zero. In the middle, an interpolation takes place.

- The water density used is the one included in the geotechnical material with the lowest numbering, even though this material is not used in the model.
