~VARTH
~VARTH, KP1, KP2, KP3, KP4, SHVERT1, SHVERT2, SHVERT3, SHVERT4
Modifies Shell Properties of the elements of a meshed area to have the specified variable thickness
PREP7: Beam & Shell Prop.
KP1
Keypoint on corner I of the area.
KP2
Keypoint on corner J of the area.
KP3
Keypoint on corner K of the area.
KP4
Keypoint on corner L of the area.
SHVERT1
Shell Vertex for KP1.
SHVERT2
Shell Vertex for KP2.
SHVERT3
Shell Vertex for KP3.
SHVERT4
Shell Vertex for KP4.
Notes
-Â This command works on any area defined by three or four keypoints. It can have straight or curved sides.
-Â SHVERT1 to SHVERT4 must already be defined.
-Â New Shell Vertex and Beam & Shell Properties will be created to match the ones needed at each point.
-Â Thickness throughout the area will be interpolated from the four given Shell Vertex. Other properties (material, reinforcement amounts, etc.) will be assigned constant at each of the sectors defined by the corners.
-Â One component of elements will be created for each of the sectors defined by the corners, as shown in the following figure.
